Mountain Road
Birds here are not very shy because they’re used people at this picnic area. You will find many carbet (gazebos) to protect you in case of rain, which happens often… and is why the trees are so tall!
This is a very peaceful place (almost) free of people if you arrive early (before 8:00 AM). We recommend walking along this forest road up to D23 to improve your chance to see all the target species!
Look on the ground for the Forest Thrush, in the trees for the Thrashers and in the sky for the Swifts!
Lesser Antillean endemics at this site include: Plumbeous Warblers, Forest Thrushes, Lesser Antillean Swifts, Brown Tremblers, Lesser Antillean Flycatchers, Scaly-breasted Thrashers, and Purple-throated Caribs.
Caribbean endemics include: Bridled Quail-doves and Pearly-eyed Thrashers.
Situated between Cascade aux Ecrevisses and Maison de la Forêt, Corossol is indicated by a signal along D23 Route de la Traversée (Mountain Road).
Levesque Birding Enterprise offers tours to this site!
